PVNC Catholic seeking community input into Student Achievement Plan (SAP) 2024-2027

Background

The Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington (PVNC) Catholic District School Board is seeking public consultation on the final development of its Student Achievement Plan 2024-2027.

This plan is a working document and will be continually updated and revised. The input from our stakeholders is paramount to ensuring this plan is responsive to the needs of our community while still meeting the requirements outlined by the Ministry of Education. The Student Achievement Plan 2024-2027 has been developed in accordance with the Better Schools and Student Outcomes Act (2023) and aligns with the provincial priorities and goals.

Mandatory Provincial Priorities and Goals

In accordance with the Better Schools and Student Outcomes Act (2023), which received royal assent on June 8, 2023, PVNC Catholic’s Student Achievement Plan 2024-2027 has been developed to include the following mandatory provincial priorities and goals:

1. Priority: Achievement of Learning Outcomes in Core Academic Skills

  • Goal: Improve students’ literacy learning and achievement
  • Goal: Improve students’ math learning and achievement

2. Priority: Preparation of Students for Future Success

  • Goal: Improve students’ graduation rates and preparedness for future success

3. Priority: Student Engagement & Well-being

  • Goal: Improve students’ participation in class time and learning

We thank all community members for providing us with valuable feedback during the consultation process, which runs April 2 to April 30, 2024 and will help us refine the Student Achievement Plan 2024-2027 .

It is important to note, the data provided in the Student Achievement Plan is from the Ministry of Education. Boards across Ontario are continually working with the Ministry of Education to ensure data provided reflects the most current and accurate data. When revisions to the data are provided, we will update the plan accordingly.

Although the goals and template provided are from the Ministry of Education, it is important for us to collect crucial input from our parents/guardians, staff and community members about this draft plan and key actions before final revisions are incorporated.
